Poor Blog
My poor neglected blog! I am sorry for not writing in awhile.Last week was a busy week in addition to going to my classes I managed to finish beading (filling in the background color) of a moccasin and once that was finished I hand sewed the soles on. After that I sewed a skirt and called the people to let them know their order was finished just in time for the powwow. I was so busy moving on to the next project that I didn't get a chance to take a picture like I said I would.
Then as the deadline drew near for the other stuff I had to get done; we got a snowstorm and our classes were cancelled! So that allowed me time to prepare and collect/buy the things I needed to get everything finished.
My deadline was Saturday March 3. The project was a shawl and skirt to award the first place winner in a special fancy shawl dancing contest held in honor of my niece who gave up her royalty title. I finally got everything together and started at 4 pm Friday and worked fifteen hours straight on it and pulled an all nighter.
I finished it and it looked nice. When I decided to get a picture of it, the batteries in my camera died.
So no pics of my recent work to show but I'll get one at a future powwow since I know the people who are now enjoying and wearing my latest work.
Now as spring break looms near I am deciding on what to start for my next project and I think it's going to be mocs for my fiance :) I want to get him out in the dance arena sometime this summer. I'll tell him that'll be my wedding present to him, a nice outfit made by me :) All these years together and he deserves it. I joked with him that we'll do a "trade" and he has to make a powwow song for me. hahaha
Well I have to get going but maybe I'll snap some random pics to spice up this blog and come back and post!
