Hang Girls @ The Powwow

Here's a pic of two of my nieces and their friends at the powwow. The girl on the far left won my niece's fancy shawl contest special back in March and that is the blue shawl and dress that I made for the champion. Her family asked permission to add some more to it and I said "go ahead" They added the green and orange design work to it :) I didn't catch the girls name second from right but I think she's from North Dakota.

"A" in the center of pic in the brown.She did well but there wasn't much room for her to dance hard because there are lots in her category! She did well and if all goes fair she should get in there.

Lots of girls in her category as you can tell by this pic where they're lined up to be judged. And this is the norm!

"S" in the center of pic in the blue dress and yellow beadwork! It's one she's never worn before and it was short on her so I sewed a long underskirt for her to wear and it looks nice! Note "A" watching her on the sidelines and waiting to run her some water between songs.

"S" doing the sidestep and if all goes fair she should receive a place too :)


Ok now have to go and find something to eat and head back to the stuffy, hot, humid powwow and get ready for my contest tonight. I am wearing one of my old dresses that I jazzed up I'll try to get more pics and post them up later.
