I was feeling artistic

I saw him sitting there, the elderly Veteran, in the lobby of the movie theater yesterday. A small table before him with a cash box and poppies on top. I sheepishly walked by, I wanted one but left my money in the car and I wanted to run back out to get some money but we were already late for the movie. When the movie was over with everyone walked by this man as if he weren't there. My fiance went to the bathroom and I went to the car.

As I sat there, I looked for my wallet to grab the only dollar in it and was about to run inside when I saw my man walking out holding a red poppy. He dropped the rest of his change from his pocket and took one. He said "everyone just walked by that guy in there and I felt bad so I emptied my pocket and got one"

I told him how I always wanted one as a kid whenever I saw the tables set up.

As we drove away I thought about looking up the website and sending in a donation to the cause whenever I get a bit of a cash flow.

I stuck my poppy in the visor on the passenger's side and as I reclined back today to look out the sun roof into the blue sky, I had an artistic idea.

Here it is:
