Bloggin love

During the day at work, my blog is the only thing I can access since the other sites I frequent are blocked. (Not those kind of sites you pervs! hahaha myspace...hotmail...etc...) And I don't know how to get around the blocker. The hubz said that the his high schoolers mess around with proxies and can get around it. If only I were that much of a computer tech whiz. I probably just have to read up on some things and do some research then maybe....and that's maybe. hahaha

Since this is the only site I can get on here's what you get from me, more posts than usual ;) Whether or not that's a good thing I don't know but at least I'm writing.

So here we are in the free time computer lab. This morning we were in a lab where the kids have to go through math and reading programs. We have a full hour in there and they were getting pretty drained last week so the guy who works in the computer lab prepared some packets of coloring, mazes and word puzzles and they take a few breaks doing those during the hour.

The past few days they've been playing bingo during the breaks. Imagine the little shinob kids there with their crayons in their hands, numbers being called out and marking their sheets. A parent dropped her kid off while we were in the computer lab and she was like "Are they playing bingo?" and she kind of chuckled and said "That's cool."

We have a change of plans this coming weekend. Originally we were going to head up by Kenora for a powwow but now B-Joe is going on a 21 hour drive to Quebec for a powwow they're host drum at. I'm not going because I can't miss work, I'll be covering for him part of the afternoon tomorrow and on Monday as he makes his way back. We both work in the same classroom and I didn't mind since he covered for me the week I was at immersion camp.

This weekend I'm staying home. Maybe do some laundry and cleaning at home (it needs it!), make it cozy.

I am invited to a birthday party on Saturday for a kid I worked with a few summers ago. He's not in our program this year, he's in one of the other two that are also at this school. Each year he's invited me but I didn't get an invitation telling me when and where. So when he mentioned I was invited this year I said "You invite me each year and I don't make it because I don't get an invitation that tells where it's at."

Today he brought me one. He's turning eight! I remember when he was five and told me he's a Potowatami and moved from Kansas. At that time he went by a nickname "O.G" but now he goes by his real name but I still call him O.G. Maybe on Saturday I'll find out the meaning behind his nickname maybe it's from a Potowatami word (he told me he knew how to speak a little when he was five...how adorable) I wanted to adopt him. He's one of those cute, loveable kids, always giving me hugs when I see him. Last year my nieces grew close to him and he called them "sister". Today at lunch I asked him what he wanted for his birthday and he wants a dinosaur toy from Walmart. I'll probably bring my nieces to the party if they aren't going away for a powwow. It's a squirt gun fight birthday party at a beach.

I still haven't seen Chep yet and her new hairdo. I saw the blog pic but not in person yet. Last night she was gone for the evening and so maybe tonight I'll pop in and smother her with some kisses.

Tomorrow for work we're heading to a beach for the day. I hope it doesn't rain and that it's warm enough out to enjoy the water.
