Homecoming
Here are some pics of Sunday when the troops came back. My parents, niece and I decided to check it out. The route went right by my place so we set up some chairs in the front yard and waited.
They were escorted in by police cars and fire trucks that had their sirens on. Here's "Wendy" (she told somebody that was her name when they asked her that day lol) and the sirens were a little too loud for her.
Approaching
Their bus comes into sight. I wanted to snap a pic of them on the bus as they went by but I was too busy waving and then I saw a bunch of uniformed bodies inside standing/leaning towards the windows and enthusiastically waving back to the crowds that came out to welcome them back. You could see/feel their happiness and excitement to be back home.
If I was going to get a pic of the bus, I would've had to get the right timing in when they passed. I tried with the bikers and got an ok shot it's a lot harder than you'd think. I think the flag looks pretty cool in this pic.
Here's a nice article about it.
