A different look

Yesterday after our category was excused, I immediately got to work putting the soles on my blue beadwork and assembling the choker and drop so I could wear it in last night's contest. The whole supper break was devoted to the soles, my husband helped me out while I went and got us some food and started work on the other things. I cut it close but I made it just in time for grand entry. Afterwards I was rushing around to get ready (had to throw in some quick butt braids) but I made it for my contest songs. We had two of them and then we danced three later on in the old style special. Here's a picture of my friend Joanne and I. She is from Manitoba. She's a coordinator who'll be running this big celebration in November. She's really nice and a good person; she took third last weekend in Connecticut.

I was all greasy lookin and flushed because it was warm out and I was constantly on the go; walking around etc... I didn't want to take that outfit off! I haven't worn that blue beadwork in about two or three years. I received some nice compliments on that outfit, especially the cape. I sewed that Friday night/Saturday morning. You can't really tell from the picture but Joanne's hairties are all quillwork! Her sister did that for her and she is one of the few jinglers that I know of with quillwork.

Time to get ready for today's last session =)
