swing of things

So classes are going well so far. We are getting loaded with books! Luckily I don't have to worry about footing the bill for them as I did all those years at BSU.

I have a separate bag just for my ojibwe IV books! That class is taught via ITV. Our instructor logs on from UMD and that's his first time doing that and also the first for many of the students in our class. It's different and kind of cool and seems like it'll work.

We're going to have to be on top of our work in all classes as we are going to be put to work! Next week we head to Duluth for orientation at UMD and then a presentation. I think we have to get our pictures for our ID cards as well. I'll be sure to put some makeup on so it doesn't turn out all haggy looking like my license picture. hahaha

Earlier this summer I went in to get my name changed on my license. I didn't think they'd need a new picture because they always seem reluctant to take new pictures BUT since I had to re-sign with my new last name, a new pic was required. So there's me; no makeup, and scraggly hair that I just threw up in a bun with a semi-smile frozen on my current license until 2009. I should scan and post it. So for my school ID next week I'll make sure I look decent.

I started my workouts again. Yesterday marked the day! I worked out where my sis works and spent 45 minutes on the treadmill. Today I was pressed for time between classes so I squeezed in a half hour on the elliptical. Tomorrow I don't think I'll have time to work out, maybe in the evening when I get back.

Now if I can just get my evening dinners under control and make some healthy choices then I'll be a contender for some serious weight loss. I've sworn off carbonated drinks, I only have them if there's nothing else around but I try to limit that. Sam's choice water is my new best friend, along with some raspberry lemonade and green tea Crystal Lite packets mixed in (not together I alternate). I've heard that green tea is really good for the body as an antioxidant and a metabolism booster.

I think the pill is pretty much out of my system. I went off last winter because they started giving out generic stuff at IHS. The reason I know it's mostly out is that my face has been breaking out like crazy! The pill I was on all those years before, controlled acne and breakouts. And that's another reason I'm trying to drink more water, because I heard it's good for the complexion.

We don't have class tomorrow but we still have to go in as they are issuing us apple notebooks and we have to stick around for someone to show us how to operate the various programs on it.

I haven't heard any news on Gaazh. She's supposed to get spayed and then they'll give us a call when she's ready. So we're just waiting for the call...

Well time to get going, I'm getting sleepy!
