Xmas '07
So this holiday season was a nice one for me. It started on Christmas Eve at my parents' house. Since I knew I wasn't going to be around for Christmas, I wanted to make frybread so we could have Indian Tacos. They turned out good and there was lots of frybread! We opened our presents after we ate and there were nice gifts given and received. I got some goodies from Victoria's Secret from my parents (a titsling lol, nightgown, mints, a cute purple handbag with a Love Spell fragrance set inside), my older sis got me a foot spa, manicure/pedicure set and a paraffin wax thing, my younger sis got my husband and I a king size down comforter (we slept well Christmas Eve night!), my grandparents got me a nice Cranberry scent lotion set from The Body Shop then we got a bag of goodies from my Auntie Free! I got more things too but I can't remember right now, we didn't have much time to take our gifts out and enjoy them because we had to pack and get ready for our trip.Christmas Day, we departed to Canada and rolled in to Whitefish Bay around 3:30 pm. We went to the dinner around 5 and it was pretty packed there, lots of people and the dinner was good. After that we hung around at my mother-in-law's and opened our gifts while we waited for the poker game to start, we also opened gifts at my father-in-law's as well. Among the gifts I got were pajama pants (which I needed) a nice shirt, handmade leather gloves with beadwork on them (awesome), some nice necklaces, a blanket, a jacket, and there were more but we put them away in the trunk and I can't remember all! lol My mother-in-law got us a 32" HDTV, we took it out and looked at it. It's a black Samsung one and it wasn't really a surprise we were guessing it could be that since we got a call that we were getting something big and expensive and we'd have to stay at least 48 hours to avoid paying taxes at the border. Plus the 5 year old nephew greeted us at the dinner with "Hey BJ you and Jamie got a big giant TV for Christmas!" LOL
The poker game got underway around 8 pm and I sat and watched everyone play. I don't really know the game well enough to play, I can understand it though when I watch it so I'm slowly learning. Maybe one of these days I'll get the courage to give it a shot. After a few hours we decided to hook up a karaoke machine and start singing! We all had lot of fun and didn't get back until around 2 AM.
I'm tempted to hit a Boxing Day sale but we'd have to drive an hour away to Kenora. I guess it's like our Black Friday, good deals and sales. Well I should get ready so we can go visiting. :) We'll be back in the States tomorow.
I hope the cat's doing ok. We gave her enough food and H2O to last a few days, usually we leave a key with someone in the fam and they drop by and check on her but I think she'll be ok. I'm sure she'll be lonesome and hope she doesn't get too mad at us that she starts raising hell (knocking the Xmas tree down etc...) lol We shall see when we get home...
