dust this baby off...

It's been awhile since I last blogged. I was sick one week and busy the past few weeks. Our spring break has pretty much started and we get all of next week off. Regardless, I am going to be busy next week! I'm going in for my observations at the school my mom teaches at. Yesterday I was there and sat in with a kindergarten class, the same class that lil A is in. It was a busy, fun filled day!

When I got there in the morning, they were coloring and cutting out pieces of paper at their tables. It was when I got closer, I saw they were studying the letter "O" and the pictures they colored all had to do with "O" like otter, orange and octopus. They said that they were going to eat octopus and the teacher confirmed it. I was wondering what was to come as I helped them assemble and staple their books together.

Then a knock at the door and in walks a lady with a tray of octopus. They turned out to be individualized for each kid as they were hot dogs with four legs cut up to the "head" and then two eyes poked in the head. It was cute and the kids were excited about it.

So next week I am going back to visit the kindergarteners for another day and then go into some upper grade classes.

Tomorrow my husband and I are off to the cities! We are going to watch an NHL game so look for us on TV (it's going to be televised MN Wild vs. NJ Devils). Our seats are close to the glass and I'm looking forward to that and having a good time.

Speaking of good times, so was the case this past Saturday at my grandpa's fundraiser fish fry. The food was excellent and I'm wishing for some now. I have a few pictures and some video shots to post on here as soon as I get around to it. Most likely this weekend some time. But the fundraiser was awesome and it was great seeing and hanging out with family! Love you guys!
